I installed xfce-Debian 11 on lenovo chromebook duet/crostini after updating and upgrading. I had NO set password or login screen after xfce install and NO desktop. Ran the command sudo start-txfce4 and have ONLY the top bar with application menu of desktop across middle of screen with ONLY. Do have 20+ linux apps in my launcher such as Xarchiver, XTerm, Application F, LibreOffice, Terminal etc. Agian as directions told me would have log screen I did NOT.
Can some please help me get desktop if possible on this device.

You have a somewhat unique set up - there may not be anyone around with knowledge to help. Plus, your description of the problem is confusing.
I had NO set password or login screen after xfce install and NO desktop.
What exactly does this mean? Did you try to create a passwordless login through the display manager? If so which display manager?
Ran the command sudo start-txfce4
Do you mean "startxfce4"? And why are you running it with "sudo"? It should be run under your user account.
and have ONLY the top bar with application menu of desktop across middle of screen with ONLY.
Is the xfdesktop process running? What do the log files say?
Agian as directions told me would have log screen I did NOT.
Which directions?
