Hi folks,
I'm not a huge fan of the individual tabs that normally exist on the dock panel (where each new window of Firefox is a new tab rather than collapsed into one, like in Ubuntu). I'm using a docker now, Latte, but even when I'm using the normal XFCE menu, whenever I click on an item that is already open, it doesn't raise the window to the front, and I have to go searching for the window beneath a bunch of others.
I think this is some sort of config thing, but any advice on where to look for it is much appreciated.
Also, any help on where to look in XFCE config files for how to allow tap-to-click on a touchpad would be much appreciated too--though to be fair it might be my touchpad rather than XFCE.
TIA

Hi folks,
Hello and welcome to the forum.

I believe you are referring to the Window Buttons plugin. If you right-click the panel, select Panel > Preferences, and on the Items tab, double-click Window Buttons entry, there will be an option for "Grouping". Change that to always and it will group all similar applications together on one button.

This is confusing and I'm not sure what you mean. If you click on the running app in the panel, it should open the existing window. If you click on an entry in the menu, it will open a new window. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding - can you explain further?

It would be helpful it you provided some more info on the distro you are running and the version of Xfce. If you go to Settings Manager > Mouse and Touchpad, change the Device to your touchpad, you will then get a Touchpad tab where you can set tap to click.

Hi!
So turns out most of my issues have been resolved and were more a matter of my own device not being configured properly. Thank you for the information about grouping for the xfce panel!
As for the window-raising thing, you've got it right. My issue is it is not raising the window to the top of my screen. It doesn't open a new window, but when I click on the running application it just stays at the location it is at on the screen. This might be an issue again not with XFCE, but I know sometimes there's weird stuff about window managing and I was hoping someone could clear it up!
