Hi,
I'm a bit of a newbie, so forgive me if this is the wrong forums or something. I really like xfce, but I would like the alt-tab function to be more like MS Windows, ie, show me a list of processes/icons, atm I don't find alt-tabbing between apps too easy, and I tend to rely on the size of the window as a guide, which is a bit rubish.
I am on debian testing.
Thanks, Jamie

I agree, so much. The alt-tab window is my main issue with xfce... it just does not make much sense to me--I really need to see the list of apps I am switching to, before I switch to them, in order to be comfortable.

Thanks. Can I get a specific patch for a specific version? Or do I have to use a certain version for the patch to work?
Thanks again, Jamie

Yea I posted a vote , to cycle *ALL* windows from *ALL* workspaces with alt-tab ...
About: Alt+Tab = Windows Cycling among workspace (not only current one)
I really want that feature, because i'd like to avoid to use the ctrl+alt+right shortcut (which require 2 hands)

nope, it's intended that alt-tab only cycles through windows on the
current workspace. this isn't a preference, and, IMHO, it shouldn't be.
Other features I like to use : a shortcut to unhide the pannel taskbar

is there a way for alt-tab to display the full list of applications it is cycling through? this visualization would help me quite a bit!
thanks in advance for any advice :-*

you will beable to do this in 4.4 in the wmtweaks plugin.
You could try adding <option name="Xfwm/CycleWorkspaces" type="int" value="1"/> to you ~/.config/xfce4/mcs_settings/xfwm4.xml file, but it most likely wont work.

I found that page in google's cache  always a good place to look for MIA webpages...
http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:78p … ient=opera
IF that doesn't work, go here:
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22alt%2 … ndesign.se
and click on 'Cached' link under the result page...

all of the links in this thread are dead...not suprising really. So the "resolution" to this is that alt-tab cycling through all apps on all workspaces is not a desired behavior but the option will be in xfce 4.4? So there is no way to add this option to 4.2?
