To show / start keyboard layout icon manually

How do we show keyboard layout icon on panel manually not automatically when login ?

You can remove it from your panel via Panel PreferencesItems, but then you're going to have to add it back manually and repeat this cumbersome process every single time.

What I would do in your case is remove it, decrease the size of the main panel just a tad bit, add another panel, adjust its size and position accordingly, make it always hidden, add the xkb plugin to it, adjust the size of the autohidden panel window to match the main panel, write a script that toggles the autohide property from Never to Always and vice versa, and create a symbolic link on the desktop. But why?!
