Hi,
I've encontered a problem while trying to use some applications acessing files on network (SMB shares).
Apps like OnlyOffice, WPS Office or FreeOffice have huge delays opening smb:// shared files, while LibreOffice can open then almost instantanially.
This happens with Xubuntu or Debian XFCE, but not with Cinnamon, GNOME or KDE.
All apps were instaled from .deb packages/repo.
I just installed Xubuntu on a VM, so if anyone has any idea, please share so I can test it.

My basic formula

...and maybe a smb.conf file in /etc/samba/

I'm using a Xubuntu right now, so gonna post here.
I installed fuse3, and:
gigolo:

I have the /etc/samba/smb.conf file too.

Idk if this is relevant or not, but I joined domain with this VM using winbind.

I joined domain with this VM using winbind.
I'm not familiar with winbind.
Using a minimalist Debian and manually using Gigolo all is fine.
My 11's only have no samba other than 'samba-libs' and an edited smb.conf.

min protocol may need edited for older setups, = NT1 instead of ntlvm...
A year ago or so I saw some behavior like you report, delays and only some things work. That was due to the migration from the fuse to fuse3. The older fuse setups stopped working. Then, the smb code changed. On a fresh install I am unaware of the defaults.

So, installed Linux Mint XFCE. Installed the basics to join domain and logon with AD users:
apt install sssd-ad sssd-tools realmd adcli krb5-user sssd-krb5 samba-client
Edited smb.conf with workgroup = DOMAINNAME
Installed OnlyOffice, same stuff.
BUT, tried WPS Office and it worked right away. In Debian XFCE tho, it doesn't.
Gonna try FreeOffice soon.
By default, Xubuntu and Mint XFCE use fuse instead of fuse3.
I tried to use gigolo, but no luck.
