Do custom tumbler thumbnailers work in Thunar?

If I take a folder with a cover.jpg, etc in it and copy it to the desktop the folder displays the custom cover. But it does not display in thunar.

In thunar preferences, on the Display tab, do you have thumbnails enabled?

What is in your ~/.xsession-errors log file?

And what does the following return:

ps -ef | grep -i -E 'thunar|xfdesktop'

ls -l /usr/share/thumbnailers

ls -l /usr/bin/folder-thumbnailer

yes, its enabled

I can tell the thumbnailer is working because i see the thumbnails on the desktop.

Which distro and version of Xfce are you running?

Also:

ps -ef | grep tumblerd

And, does using folder.jpg instead of cover.png work?

Slackware 15rc2

XFCE 4.16.10

I've tried all 4 variations in the example, folder.jpg, .folder.jpg, folder.png, cover.jpg

Any of the 4 work find when I copy the folder to the Desktop, but none work when viewing within Thunar. Since they work fine on the desktop tells me the tumbler config should be good. Does Thunar and the desktop use a different process for thumbnails?

tumblerd isn't running. Do you have the tumbler package installed?

If so, where is the tumblerd executable installed? Try running it manually in a terminal window to see what output it generates.

Sorry, copy/paste issue, you caught before I fixed.
tumbler does/is running. If I create a new cover.jpg/folder.jpg, etc I can watch it create the thumbnails also.

Oh wow, PEGKAC error. Look back at my post with the ls. I did folder-thumbnailer instead of folder.thumbnailer
