Panel disappears

My panel keeps disappearing <sad>. I think I have isolated the problem! Removing a launcher takes the panel with it.  Not all launchers ... but firefox for sure. I just stuck a random game on the panel and then deleted it. No problems. Added FF and deleted a number of times and it killed the panel each time.

I can re-launch the panel from command line, so that's all fine.

Bug or something in my config?
   xfce4-panel 4.16.3 (Xfce 4.16) Ubuntu 21.10.

I was wondering if I maybe had some old panel/launcher-XX files. Guess it's not going to be that easy.

So, if the panel is not being back-ported, what does that mean? I have to wait for complete system upgrade or a new version of xfce4?

Possibly. You could post back in that bug report and ask for the fix to be back-ported to 4.16 - then you can get it in an update.
