I love XFCE so much. Many thanks to the team and everyone who helps.

Been using linux on and off since the late 90s.  Really go into it around 2005ish.

So along the way have used several WM.  Shoutout to IceWM which I use to love and miss sometimes !

I must admit I didnt actually learn about XFCE untill around 2007ish.  So I was pretty late to the party.

XFCE does exactly what I want

- dont bog down the system
- dont get in my way
- dont make settings hard / impossible to find
- dont over complicate things

So many thanks again to the XFCE team past and present who made this all possible.  I know it wasnt easy.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

I have a similar background (early 90s with Solaris/CDE, mid-90s with Slackware, full-on linux/Xfce by early 2000s) and totally agree with your statements about Xfce. I especially like how you can easily extend Xfce functionality with add-on scripts and how tweakable the GUI is with CSS now that it is based on GTK3.
