What is the action that is causing the display of the drive? Are you plugging in a USB memory key?
What does ~/.xsession-errors and:
sudo journalctl -f
...say when this happens?

What is the output of:
gio mount -l
What do your log files say when this is happening?
cat ~/.xsession-errors

That bug was fixed in Thunar 4.16 (Xubuntu 21.10 and 22.04) , but not in version 1.8 (Xubuntu 20.04).

I had artifacts when dragging the windows (strange but I didn't notice it) then I looked at the old topics on the forum. And found such a command.
xfwm4 --vblank=xpresent --replace
It seemed strange, but it helped.
