I can't seem to find the secret combination to move a button on the panel. Most buttons have a context menu accessed by right clicking on them ... but if right click has a function it seems one is out of luck. I tried various combinations of alt-click, windows-click, etc. but nothing seems to work.
I'm using xfce4 4.16.
Thanks.

1. Right-click an item on the panel and select Move. You can then move it in either direction or even place it in other panels provided that you have them.
2. Go to Panel Preferences > Items and reorder them using the up and down arrows.
Remember to edit the subject of your topic to include the [SOLVED] tag once you're satisfied with the answers or have found a solution (in which case, don't forget to share it as well), so that other members of the community can quickly refer to it and save their time. Pretty please!

Thanks. Solution (1) doesn't work since Right-click brings up a bunch of options for the app, not the button (this is for the Rhythmbox panel indicator).
But, (2) works fine. Never occurred to me that the reorder arrows did anything
