Hello,
I am using xfce as a light GUI in a linux guest (running under Qemu/UTM) and have problems with the graphical settings.
The display panel of xfce-settings lists a number of possible resolutions but the one of my display does not appear in the menu. I can select another resolution but the result is ugly due to the scaling. Is there a way to avoid that ? How to force a resolution be added to the list. If I could just enter the right numbers, that would be perfect.
Thanks !

Hello and welcome.
The list of available resolutions comes from the xrandr library. What does xrandr report? Do you have SPICE installed?

Hello,
Thanks, I did not know the information was coming from xrandr.
Here is the xrandr output:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
Virtual-1 connected 1280x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 260mm x 195mm
1024x768 74.99 + 60.00
5120x2160 50.00
4096x2160 50.00
3840x2160 50.00
1920x1440 60.00
2560x1080 50.00
1856x1392 60.00
1792x1344 60.00
2048x1152 60.00
1920x1200 59.88
1920x1080 60.00 50.00
1600x1200 60.00
1680x1050 59.95
1400x1050 59.98
1280x1024 60.02
1440x900 59.89
1280x960 60.00
1360x768 60.02
1280x768 59.87*
800x600 60.32
640x480 60.00 59.94
The resolution of the laptop's display is 1280x800.
I am not using spice at the moment. My understanding is that spice is needed for clipboard/folder sharing, which I am planning to set up next, am I wrong ?
Thanks again!

Hi and welcome.
Probably has to do with VGA emulation. Try launching your VM with -vga std flag.
