Hello
I use xfce with Debian 10 and lightDM
I must have been too ambitious.
the problem :
I had a problem with authorization to delete unwanted printers in CUPS).
I wanted to start an X root session IN a user terminal window. So I launched the terminal, then used su and got a root terminal IN WHICH I launched startx.
Daring, isn't it. Well, I shouldn't have done that.
I think some configuration files were overwritten or deleted. In short, the user session disappeared :'(
Upon login this user (only this one) LightDM tries to launch X (I guess) and then returns to the empty login window.
Can someone help me? It must be a corrupted file... BUT WHICH and WHERE?
Thanks for your help

Hello and welcome.
Log files would help identify the problem (journalctl, /var/log/lightdm/*, ~/.xsession-errors.old). However, could be permissions on ~/.Xauthority and ~/.ICEauthority files. Check to see if they are owned by the user.
