Hi,
I'm referring to the large cursor with an "I" shape which appears in text areas.
Can and how its colours/shape be changed to make it more legible?.
Thanks

Hey.
Do you mean for the whole desktop? I'm not sure if it's possible, although there could be a hidden xsettings property.
You can change its shape in your terminal emulator preferences.

Alright, how about this one:
[Settings]
gtk-cursor-aspect-ratio = 0.5
Paste this in your ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini. If the file doesn't exist, create it. If it exists and already contains the [Settings] header, then just append the next line to the file. Adjust the value to your liking. Needs re-login or reboot. Keep in mind that it doesn't change the shape, though.

Thanks.
What about changing the cursors colours?.

Do you still mean the blinking cursor? It cannot be changed, I'm afraid.

i see the I-bar cursor in Firefox (an arrow outside of text). my xfce4-terminal just has a box of b/g<->f/g swapped pixels or a hollow box when terminal does not have focus. i am running Xubuntu 20.04. i recall the same thing in 18.04. i am not aware of any change of this that t could do in xfce4-terminal but i would likely play around with it if i found a way.

Sure. You can change its appearance here:

Thanks.
I mean the colour of the "I" cursor (in text) or the arrow (in a browser).
