thunar file manager, menu bar responds slow when File is clicked. If the point is hover over the File option or F10 key is used. Edit, View, Go, Help respond to click as expected. If I bring the point any were near the File option or F10, have to wait 12 seconds for the response. Only with thunar. Mousepad, Xfce terminal file option respond on click.
Is there a way to view a log that would tell me what the delay is?

Hello and welcome.
To clarify: Is it only the File menu that hangs? Does it hang if you first go to the Edit menu? If so, do you have any/many custom actions? And if so, try moving them out of the way.
Do you get a similar hang if you right click on a file?

Hello
File menu is the only one. I have no custom action. Never edited ~/.config/Thunar/accels.scm or uca.xml
I can drop the Edit menu and slide pointer to View menu and it drops. If I drop Edit menu and slide to File, it takes 12 seconds for menu to drop.
No, menu drops if right click on file.

Hmm. Anything in ~/.xsession-errors when this happens?
Can you also try the following in a terminal window:
thunar -q
thunar
...and try clicking the File menu. If the delay still happens, does anything get output on the terminal window?

No errors in .xsession-error that I can see from thunar. Issue still exists when launched from term, no out put.

Can you create a second account on your computer and keep it at its default settings to see if the problem replicates?

Yes I can do that. I was just going to ~$ apt purge thunar. I used net install and selected xfce4 package during installation. If purge does not work I will add user account. I also have root account I never login with x session.
Thank you again for baring with me. I'm obsessed on finding delay. need to brake a while.

Hello
I remove theme pakages,
breeze-icon-theme
breeze-gtk-theme
breeze
gvfs (installed again)
orca
I not sure what fixed the issue since I removed them at the same time, I'm guessing themes. File menu drops when clicked.
Thank you
