i have many workspaces configured for each user. most users have 10 workspaces. i just reconfigured user "phil" to have 20 workspaces (i often have all 10 in use on this user). i noticed that the tab for the last workspace was larger then the other 19. so i switched to another user to see if this user would also have the same effect with 20. it did. so i switched to a third user to check it 19 and fewer. there i noticed it larger even with just 10 workspaces.
has anyone else noticed this?
i have these tabs organized in a horizontal line so the last tab is in the far upper right filling the whole panel height. there is nothing else (invisible) up there as i can see the tab light up all the way to the display edge when i move the mouse pointer over it.
the size increase is horizontal. all tabs do have the same height.

My laptop screen is 1920 pixels wide. I can add 22 tabs (workspaces) and they seem to be each sized at 85 pixels wide. The 23rd workspace is cut off (only showing about 50 pixels) because there is no more room. Interesting that your last workspace is stretched out.
What is your monitor width/resolution? What version of xfce4-panel are you running?

It's a bug in Libwnck, see https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/236.

i also have 1920 wide, but i am not filling the panel width, at least not yet.
here are 2 1920x1080 images showing the last two workspace tabs highlighted (blue) by the mouse pointer (not directly seen):

that description fits what i am seeing. but it's not impacting anything i am doing, so if they just skip fixing this, i don't care. i just wanted to find out what could do this and if it's'n Xfce then get that acknowledged. this bug report achieves that.
