Switching between a single and dual monitor

HI,

I have 2 monitors installed but most of the time I use only 1.

xfce4-display-settings supports multiple "profiles".

Can I switch between a single- & dual- monitor profile from the CL?.

Thanks.

I've followed that thread but it's not working.

I've defined a profile for a single display (ID  356...)
and for a dual display (ID da4...)

Running from the CL: 

 xfconf-query -c displays -p /ActiveProfile -s 356...

or

 xfconf-query -c displays -p /ActiveProfile -s da4..

doesn't change anything.

Any suggestions?.

Can you post back you displays channel:

 xfconf-query -c displays -lv

You seem to have a number of profiles:
- 356a192b7913b04c54574d18c28d46e6395428ab  = Dell 22" on HDMI + Seimens 22" on VGA
- b78f576611ec06f96af3ca654c22172a5d746c40  = Altec 15" on HDMI + unknown monitor on VGA
- da4b9237bacccdf19c0760cab7aec4a8359010b0  = Dell 22" on HDMI + Seimens 22" on VGA
- Default = Dell 22" on HDMI + Dell 22" on HDMI
- Fallback = Seimens 22" on VGA

Your currently active profile is "Default".

Assuming you hook up the Dell 22" in HDMI and the Siemens 22" on VGA, you should be able to:

xfconf-query -c displays -p /ActiveProfile -s 356a192b7913b04c54574d18c28d46e6395428ab

...and the profile should kick in.

Can you confirm that the proper devices are hooked up when you run the command (assuming xfce4-settings doesn't automatically switch the profiles).

xfconf-query -c displays -p /Schemes/Apply -t string -s 356a192b7913b04c54574d18c28d46e6395428ab -n
