Xfce 4.14.2
In addition to my SSD, that contains my "Linux system", I have a separate internal HDD. It's name (label) is "data".
In thunar I have added it to "places". (This means I have added the "folder" "/media/user/data" to places.
... But it is not available in Featherpad (or any other programme) when using the "open" dialogue:
1) I open Featherpad
2) Menu->file->open
--> The featherpad dialogue opens.
My expectation was, that now I have "data" also as entry in "places" in the Featherpad dialog, because it is already in thunar. But it is not there.
I have then tried to add it by dragging the folder "/media/user/data" with the mouse to "places" in the Featherpad dialogue window, but without success. (I can do this with other folders, but not with "/media/user/data".
Why not?
Is this a Bug?
Is there a way to do it?
What advantage has it, if we are not able to do this?
Thank you.

QT apps are slightly 'foreign' in the xfce environment. I'd think the answer is somewhere in between the QT libraries and gvfs.

Thank you for this statement. I was not aware, that this could have something to do with QT.
But yes: If I make the same with Geany, I have not this unexpected behaviour.
