Missing menu bar at thunar

In MX-Linux I mostly use the file manager nemo.
But occasionally I would also like to use thunar.
Unfortunately the "menu bar" is missing when I call thunar.
So I can't use menu items like "File" or "Edit" and I especially can't configure thunar.

$ pkaction | grep xfce
org.xfce.power.backlight-helper
org.xfce.power.xfce4-pm-helper
org.xfce.session.xfsm-shutdown-helper
org.xfce.thunar
