It's the only thing I never understand with xfce desktop (xfce 4.14).
Sometimes, after reboot, the icons leave their positions and are sorted in the left side of the screen.
I absolutely hate that.
I really need to have the icons (files, folders,etc..) where I want to, it's not a detail for me.
I've read things but not precise solution for (just) this.
Know problem?

Yes, and it is being worked on (and has been for a while). Have a look through this list if reports to see what is being reported and what is being considered as potential fixes.

I use only XFCE since 2012, and I discovered this problem with ubntu16.04 (so in 2016).
Anyway I've don't seen it the last years, I was surprised to see it coming back today!
Can I do something not to complicated to help?

Not too complicated? I'm not sure. Have a look at: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?pid=27992#p27992.

Ok, I wish you'll find a solution!

From the logout button, if I do reboot, I loose icon position.
If I do shutdown, not.
Can that help if I give some detail like this?

If you are so inclined, you can post your findings to the most relevant existing bug report. However, from the looks of it, they are working on trying to solve all issues of the icons moving under any circumstances.
