Hello everyone,
I am using the beautiful, sparkling, xfce 4.18.
using the "Window Menu" panel item, it's possible to see all the open windows organized by workspace. Which is nice.
However the "Window Buttons" panel item does not have this.
I would like to always be able to see the list organized by workspace.
I tried to make a screenshot to somewhat illustrate but I am not sure if it is clarifying or not:
Is there a way to re create this function, or idk force the menu to be open all the time?
Thank you for any ideas!

FWIW, there is an old feature request about this: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/79

Thanks for sharing that. I agree with the poster about being about the alternative of adding an item per workspace.
It seems like a not-hard thing to to especially as it is already implemented in this menu item. But I do not know how it works for real; maybe not as simple as copy/pasting existing code. (But maybe it is?)
I have been experimenting with my limited skills to create a plugin that does this with genmon. But it is slow work to learn and I doubt it will be the best way to accomplish the task even if I did manage it.

Also as the poster in the tracker notes it is already possible to specify filtering by current workspace. To my non-programmer brain, that semms 95% the way there. Instead of using "current" would it be possible to arbitrarily assign a workspace?
Even just the inverse of the above, show only items in not current workspace would be more helpul than what is currently available.
