Screen below sometimes flashes onto alt tab switcher (screenshot inc)

The issue can be seen here: https://imgur.com/a/PYJN4kA

You can see that the frame before the alt tab switcher appears, parts of the windows underneath get rendered in it's place.

I'm not sure why this is happening, I thought it might be an issue with my configuration as I'm running in kindof a weird setup (xfce and gnome installed on same system), so I booted up a live Xubuntu environment. The issue was still present in the Xubuntu environment with all stock settings.

My specs are:

i7-1260p
2240x1400 screen
Running Ubuntu 22.04 with XFCE4 desktop environment (This is xfwm4 version 4.16.1 (revision 5f61a84ad) for Xfce 4.18)

Issue also happens on latest 22.04 Xubuntu.

Does anybody know how to fix this?
