Window move/resize pop-up

Following the change of disks I have done a new installation of Fedora XFCE (4.16) and now I have annoying window move/resize pop-up's (in my previous installation I didn't have them and it was also 4.16).
How can I remove them? they make me sick...

Just curious: what is the interest of having such thing in common computer use? What does it serve?

Re: Window move/resize pop-up

Ant chance you can post a screenshot of this popup?

Re: Window move/resize pop-up

This appears in all windows, including "properties" etc. It is enough to press with the cursor no matter which edge of the window.
When you capture the active window, it doesn't appear in the captured image, it only appears in the whole screen screenshot image (hence my "collage").

Re: Window move/resize pop-up

If you are talking about the window dimensions overlay (e.g. 400x400, 951x599, etc), it is the result of xfwm4 being built with the -DSHOW_POSITION biuld parameter. For more information, see https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfwm4/-/issues/559

Re: Window move/resize pop-up

Unfortunately, I see that you are right and that there is no solution (apart from reinstalling F34 or an older version of Fedora or really move to another desktop environment).

A bitter comment: one or two guys ask for this annoying and generally useless pop-up and immediately devs change it (practically without any discussion), while many people are opposed to CSD and there is no reaction...

Re: Window move/resize pop-up

I'm not sure thats the case though. Its a build time option meaning that the distro developers decided to enable it. The other distros seem not to, on the other hand. Actually, here is the fedora bug report that enabled this.

If you are interested, you may want to follow up there, or it looks like, based on the Xfce bug report, someone is looking to make it a live configurable option. Either way, there will be a bit of a wait before this is resolved for you on fedora.
