[Solved] Clipboard trouble - icon inactive

Hi Guys,

I am having trouble with a clipboard installation and I have no clue howto troubleshoot it.
One VM machine:
Clipboard plugin grayed out no text appearing.
I created a new user and everything working as expected.

Everything is working on my other machines.

I tried to set the xfce4-session gtk debug stuff on on a hunch..not sure if that worked, but I seem to be getting more error messages for the working machine.
Just saying, not sure if the clipboard manager is working through gtk, so discard this if not relevant.

On the broken machine, broken user: My mouse right-click copy/paste is still working, but nothing is written to the clipboard manager.
cat .xsession-errors|grep clip

Re: [Solved] Clipboard trouble - icon inactive

How are you running the clipboard app? As a panel plugin added to the panel, or started from the menu/autostart?

Also, if you right-click the icon, is it enabled? And:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-panel -p /plugins/clipman/tweaks/inhibit

Re: [Solved] Clipboard trouble - icon inactive

Hi Toz,

It seems to have worked!
In my original problem user I had the clipman as a panel plugin and the answer to your query:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-panel -p /plugins/clipman/tweaks/inhibit
was "true",
setting it to false made everything work again.
Brilliant!

In the new testuser profile: I only started the clipman manager from the menu, so it didn't start in the panel and it gave:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-panel -p /plugins/clipman/tweaks/inhibit
Property "/plugins/clipman/tweaks/inhibit" does not exist on channel "xfce4-panel".

which makes sense:

By now I also found the "disable" check on rightclick of the plugin, and btw. exactly above properties.  tongue
Who knows...perhaps I clicked on it by accident? hmm

Thanks
