Reloading displays.xml

Hi,

I've updated the displays profile (removed old monitors):
~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml

The file gets over-written (with the outdated settings) presumably because new ones haven't been reloaded.

Is it possible to load the new file w/o logging out & in again?.

Thanks

Re: Reloading displays.xml

Unfortunately, no. That file is not meant to be edited while in a live session. If you need to edit the file to remove the errant entries, the best way to do it is to log out of Xfce (and log into a console tty session), make sure the xfconfd process isn't running, and then edit the file.

If you kill the xfconfd process in a live session it will automatically re-spawn.
