I noticed today that when nothing is open on my desktop, my computer is using about 1.4GB of RAM. A few weeks ago this was about 0.8GB. I'm not sure exactly when this changed, I've reinstalled my system a few times in the last 2 weeks.
Looking at btop or htop, the genmon plugins seem to be using about 31 MB of RAM each. This is irrespective of the script they have, I even made a new panel and added a brand new one and it still used 31MB of RAM.
Some of the other plugins are also using a lot of RAM. I've included a screenshot of btop.
I'm on Arch Linux with Xfce4-4.18, with latest arch packages for everything
I had a look at one of the genmon plugins with pmap, and there was a lot of memory being used up by things marked "anon". I'm not knowledgeable on this at all so I'm not sure if that's of note. If there is any more information I can provide which would be helpful let me know.

They have grown, 31 seems a tad high. In Debian bookworm kernel 6.1 4.18 they use ~25-27MB and do vary. They were ~20 last version, ~15 the version before. There also have been changes in memory tallying lately, I have no details.
