Shortcut Tiling Conflicts/Issues

I'd would like to be able to do tiling with the arrow keys (as laptop has no numpad), so tiles to corner lower left win+downarrow+left arrow for example, but I can only have 2 keys as a shortcut in the interface, is there a way to do this with configs? Also for normal winkey use I had to make it winkey+ctrl or tiling would conflict. I assume there's a better way to fix the conflict and have three keys for a bind.

You can only have more than one modifier key but only one non-modifier. I believe thats an Xwindows limitation.

What kind of conflict? Do you have the Win key only mapped to some command? That would cause a conflict. To resolve this, look at using xcape to remap the win-key only usage so it frees up the win key for other shortcuts.

Re: Shortcut Tiling Conflicts/Issues

Other desktop environments have the mapping as specified as is ctrl+alt+backspace. The conflict is the keys with win key+something fails if winkey is set to open whisker menu. Dose that explain it? Is there a good bind for a numpad less laptop though? right now to avoid the conflict (wisker and tiling seem to conflict out of the box for me)

Re: Shortcut Tiling Conflicts/Issues

Have a look at using xcape to re-assign the function and allow the Win key to act as a modifier again. This will take care of the conflict you are experiencing.

Note: the issue relates to Xfce's current behaviour of executing shortcuts on key press (as opposed to to key release).

Re: Shortcut Tiling Conflicts/Issues

I'll report back if that solves it.
