Hi I'm using Xfce on a tablet, with PostmarketOS,
The cursor (which is hidden but still exist) remains at the spot you last touched on the touch screen,
so if lets say if you touch a launcher or a plugin icon, a tooltip will popup.
Same with the icons in the side pane in thunar.
It can be a little annoying sometime as you can't click/tap what is underneath the tooltip.
I would like to disable/get rid of the tooltips if it's possible.

I don't know anything about PostmarketOS, so the following may or not apply.
For launcher icon on Desktop
Go to Settings > Desktop
Then go to Icons - Appearance
Look for "Show icon tooltips" and deselect (leave the checkbox empty)
For launchers in Applications/Whisker Menu (Panel item)
Go to Settings > Panel
Then go to Items and make selection on Applications/Whisker Menu
Click on the gear or hamburger menu icon on the right to run the Applications/Whisker Menu setting dialog.
Under Appearance, look for "Show applications descriptions in tooltip" and deselect (leave the checkbox empty)
For launcher icon on Panel
Go to Settings > Panel
Then go to Items and make selection on Launcher in the list
Click on the gear hamburger menu icon on the right to run the Launcher setting dialog
Under Advanced, look for "Disable tooltips" and deselect (leave the checkbox empty)
Post a screenshot if you think it would help.

Thanks it kinda helped for the launcher icons (I never noticed the option before).
I was looking for something more general, I know from this thread it use to be some work around to disable or delay tooltips,
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 9#p1750829
but the thread is now years old and none of the work arounds (for GTK stuffs ) worked for me.
PS; PostmarketOS (Alpine Linux) use the latest version of Xfce, so the UI should work almost like the regular Xfce we use on computer, "almost" because it is tweaked a little for touch screen devices use, and it is a little more buggy than normal,

Glad you received some satisfaction.
The net is full of outdated info.
You may already know and this is offered just to be helpful; most search engines
can be instructed to return results between dates the user has set.
Saying that, some info can be old but not outdated. Ya pays yer money, and ya takes yer chance.
