lock settings && making window transparent

Hello,
on Mint, Debian and Leap it is not possible to lock the settings in the "Settings Editor", where you can chose the "Channel" on the left and set the values on the right, like window width and height of different applicatins like thunar.
Even as root, clicking on the column "Locked" does nothing.
How to lock a certain setting, like the thunar window size, so it doesn't change anymore with the mouse?

Second question:
The attributes
.thunar .standard-view .view
and
.thunar .view

seem to only add a layer on top of the thunar window if a background-color: attribute is set.
Is it possible to make the thunar window as a whole transparent so that the wallpaper is visible, like you can do with the terminal?

The version of Xfce is 4.18.1

Re: lock settings && making window transparent

Hello and welcome.

I believe the locked setting is representative of kiosk-set locked values. There is no real way using that dialog to lock things like thunar window size. Thunar should save its last window size on closure, or you could use a third-party tool like devilspie to force a window size.

I can't seem to make .standard-view or .view transparent either (though I can make the other elements transparent). They seem to be hidden in a custom widget that doesn't support transparency. You can, however, assign it a background image, if that's helpful.
