Hello u all :-)
I'm running Linux Mint 21.2 - Before I upgraded from 20.3 , the desktop took less than 5 seconds to appear - But now, after I enter the login password, I have to wait, with a black screen and just the mouse cursor, more than 2 minutes before it appears - After that, everything runs OK -
Here are some information about my config :
Linux Mint 21.2 Victoria
Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti - driver: nvidia v: 525.125.06 - Monitor-1: HDMI-0 res: 1920x1080
I've already tried :
-systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 5.703s (kernel) + 10.752s (userspace) = 16.456s
graphical.target reached after 10.731s in userspace
if it were the actual time to display, I'd be happy, unfortunately....
Does anyone know how to fix it ?
Thanks a lot,
JF

You could have a look at your auto started applications and see if there is anything you don't need.

Thank you :-)
I've already done that, but I can't see anything wrong, and there is nothing that was not there previously -
There are some which I don't know what they do and/or if they are needed or not :
- xapp-sn-watcher
- im-launch
and I've already removed all bluetooth apps or services, since I've no bluetooth device on my desktop PC

This only gets you to the login screen - not into Xfce. Try running instead:
systemd-analyze --user blame
...to see where the hold up is during user session initiation. Also of help might be:
journalctl --user -b 0 --no-pager

I'll try, but as I've already moved the related files, I wonder what it will do

Moving them is likely why you got the "service unknown" error. It's best to stop, disable and mask them. This way they won't start at all.

Yep, I might have messed up a bit .... ;-)
Maybe, if it doesn't work, I'll try to put them back and disable and mask them ...

Why not go to system settings startup applications and do a screen print. Maybe then we might see what the issue.

Well since I can't read French I really couldn't tell much, BUT I have unchecked pulseaudio because I believe systemd takes care of that and how about im-launch as I unchecked it with no adverse affect.
The others, I am totally clueless,
Sorry if this is of no help.

thanks, I'll try that

Unfortunately....... well, it worked one time, took about 15s to show up, but next restart and.... still 2mn before desktop appears
I checked, "pulseaudio"and "im-launch" are not launched anymore, but I think I'll put pulseaudio back, because the volume control from keyboard don't work anymore, and it is useful
The 'journalctl --user -b 0 --no-pager' command still shows a 2mn gap :
