Changing the session manager

I've issued "apt dist-upgrade" & now my system is running Debian 12.

However the sleep/lockscreen panel button don't work.
Clicking on "sleep" shows an error message: "Failed to lock the screen".

Any remedy?.

Thanks

Exactly which panel button are you referring to? The Actions plugin?

Clicking on "sleep" shows an error message: "Failed to lock the screen".

Do you have a screensaver/locker program active and running:

ps -ef | grep -E 'screen|locker'
