I was transitioning from Gnome to Xfce4 with Arch, I love everything but I was missing this key functionality of a gnome extension called 'Caffeine'. What it does is it overides the screensaver when toogled so the system stays active, but on day I do not want it to do that I was able to untoogle it. Do you know of anything similar on XFCE.

Just install it. Should bring in much gnome stuff.

How will I be able to install it?
It is a gnome extension, is there a way to install gnome extensions on XFCE?

You can also use xfce4-power-manager's "presentation mode" to temporarily prevent any power management actions. To enable it, left-click on the power manager applet or you can use a command and bind it to a shortcut key:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-power-manager -p /xfce4-power-manager/presentation-mode -T
...the above command will toggle it.

I would use Toz"s suggestion first.

apt install caffeine
Gnome may use it as an extension but it's available stand alone as well. At least outside of gnome and Ubuntu.
