Set starting location

XFCE starts in Desktop. How do I make it start in /home/user?

What exactly do you mean by "Xfce starts in Desktop"?

Is it maybe related to your xdg dirs (desktop showing files from home directory)? Post back the contents of the ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs file.
