I am a Xfce user since 4.10. Now on 4.18
First of all, a huge thanks to the developers and volunteers who have made enormous contribution to this project.
People like me are able to focus on our respective duties without bothering about the computer's internal workings because of the Linux community and Xfce community.
I got a strange experience recently and for the first time.
When I start certain programs (Telegram, GoldenDict, Mega online storage app),
1. *the general behaviour* : The app starts and an icon appears in the systray. (The respective programs have been configured like that). (Clipman-plugin, nm-applet, ibus-applet are always there. No issues with them).
2. *recent unusual behaviour* : The app starts, but only sometimes its icon appear in the systray and, if it does appear, disappears after few seconds.
3. *workaround* : after doing a web search, I found that
xfce4-panel -r
in the terminal brings back all the icons that had disappeared.
I never ever faced this problem since Xfce 4.10. I have always used Xfce with Debian Stable or Devuan stable (now on Daedalus). So I believe that all the major bugs have been dealt with.
Can someone provide some insight? How can I get all the systray icons to always appear when the respective programs are launched?

Hello and welcome.
What version of xfce4-panel are you running?
xfce4-panel -V
And, do you have an ayatana-indicator-application (or something like that) package installed? If so, remove it as it conflicts.
See: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/599.

Yes. Removed it and everything works perfectly. How on earth did you catch that?
Thanks a lot! I can again focus on my work.
