Hi
I’m using MX Linux 23.2 XFCE; XFCE-version 4.18
Each time when I want to open or save a file the "open"- resp. "save as"-window pops up.
In this window the width of the favorite-folder is too small and I cannot see the foldernames completely.

Of course I can widen this area to see the foldernames completely.
But I have to do this every time because the widened favorite-folder-area is not saved.
Affected programs:
Softmaker Office
XnView Multi platform
Ksnip
Master PDF Editor
VLC
No problem with
LibreOffice
Inkscape
Thunar
Please note: changes of the complete window size are stored, but not the favorite-folder-area.
How can the widened favorite-folder-area being kept / saved permanently?
Many thanks!

I did a few tests and found it's up the the program that is doing the saving. I get different save/save as dialogs for different programs.
What program is the picture of?
2³bit

I have two different dialogs. One in GTK and the other in QT. Which one is determined by the application that triggers it. Neither are like what you show. My guess it's a theme issue or maybe the version.

Thanks for your inputs.
The picture is made of Master PDF Editor.
It is exactly the same for the other affected programs.
For the other programs: You both are right -> these show different dialog windows.
However, the question is still open: How can the widened favorite-folder-area being kept / saved permanently?
What is your experience with the dialogs after changing the favorite-folder-area?
Is the widened favorite-folder-area being saved?

Try changing your theme.

I tested several themes.
But change of theme shows an optical effect only -> changes colors.
The favorite-folder-area is still the same.
