Top bar is missing in xfce 4.18 on xubuntu 24.04

Hi,

After I upgrade to xubuntu 24.04, the top bar is missing. I try to restart xfce panel by

xfce4-panel

, the top bar apprears. But after I terminate it by ctrl+C, it disappears again.

GLib-GObject:ERROR:../../../gobject/gtypemodule.c:119:g_type_module_finalize: assertion failed: (module->type_infos == NULL)
Bail out! GLib-GObject:ERROR:../../../gobject/gtypemodule.c:119:g_type_module_finalize: assertion failed: (module->type_infos == NULL)

Any idea how to solve this?

I opened a bug about this, they should have updated xfce4-panel with glib but as often they didn't take the latest bugfix release: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/2064846
I don't know why they do that, that's what these releases are for.

The fact that the panel crashes when you start your session apparently, or doesn't start at all, seems to be another problem though.
