Hello all,
My system: Debian Sid Kernel 6.1.98
Xfce Vers. 4.18
Thunar Vers. 4.18.8
I have set up the mounting of usb devices without gvfs and udisks2 in the custom-actions in thunar. All devices have labels and can therefore be clearly assigned.
I have used the option of submenus and this also works without errors. If you look at the screenshot 1, you can see all the functions such as mount and umount and the device names.
Unfortunately, however, no name is assigned to the main action or the top hierarchy. The field remains empty, only the cursor makes the action visible.
Is it possible to assign a name to this main action as well?
The screenshot 2 for such a user action stands for all other actions in this area.
Info: I actually use spacefm with udevil as my main file manager on xfce. Therefore I do not want any additional gvfs and udisks2 on my system, because spacefm does not use these programs.
Unfortunately thunar can't handle udevil, hence this way via a custom action.
Thanks for a hint if my 'cosmetic problem' can be solved.

If you remove the forward slash before the submenu name it should appear again. However, I'm not able to nest submenus. Does nesting work for you?
Edit: I got submenu nesting to work - you need to specify the full path to the submenu in the one field. For example:
Level0/Level1/Level2

Hello ToZ,
thank you for your answer. I have added a better screenshot, which you can enlarge.
Yes, the nesting works for me. But I didn't understand your reference to the levels or complete paths. Unfortunately, your example doesn't help me either.
Which paths are meant? /media/Backup or /usr/bin/thunar or the user's home? I do not understand it.
Maybe you can explain it again.

Where you have "/mount", in the custom action properties (for the submenu entry) you need to have something before the slash. For example:
Backup/mount
