special keyboard buttons in rdp session

Hi all, I use opensuse leap 15.6 with xfce and need to use remmina to connect to a windows server via rdp.
I got everything working in regards to hotkeys being automatically sent to the rdp session (by removing all hotkeys from xfce and the window manager), but the calculator button does not get redirected through remmina.
The button works fine if I assign it something in the xfce keyboard settings, but without any action configured the button does not get sent to the windows server. I checked by using one of those websites that show you which key you pressed.

Weirdly enough, the "mail" key on my keyboard does work just fine, but the calculator button does not.

I know that gnome apparently has that button hardcoded, but is there a way to make this work in xfce?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: special keyboard buttons in rdp session

It's been 20+ years since I sat in front of a Windows desktop. Even remotely and that was WinXP. Also, I can't say I've ever seen a calculator key?? Are you setting the key up in Linux or windows? What version of Windows? .............

Re: special keyboard buttons in rdp session

My keyboard has a physical key with a calculator symbol that by default opens the calculator in linux. I want that key to open the calculator in the windows rdp session instead. So I make sure that there's no hotkey in linux (nothing happens when I press the calculator button), but pressing the button still does nothing in the windows rdp session. And the key does not even get redirected to remmina.

I haven't used remmina in a long time but under preferences>>rdp>>"use client keyboard mapping". May help if the mapping is different on the sever and the client.

Re: special keyboard buttons in rdp session

If you have a key you don't use remap calculator key to that key.
On Windows' side autokey or something like that can run command you want to execute.
Perhaps you can make a bash script to run in the background that detects if the window in focus is remina
and if so remap keys. If remina is not in focus script should remap back to XF86Calculator key.
