Workspace Settings -> Margins
After setting the right & left margins (25 each), and xfce4-panel -r , there is no change to border/margin in the workspace
Is there something else that needs to be done? Pls advice.

Hello and welcome.
After setting the right & left margins (25 each), and xfce4-panel -r , there is no change to border/margin in the workspace
What exactly are you expecting to happen. Xfce margins are used to control window placement (defining where they are not to be placed or spaces not to occupy).
You're comment about restarting xfce4-panel is confusing - are you expecting xfce4-panel to shrink in size?

Thanks for the quick response.
And thanks for the explanation for margins. I understood it differently.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have a frame around each of the workspace icon's in the taskbar. So that each workspace icon in the taskbar looks demarcated.
Hope this helps.
