I sometimes lose my windows manager when I change Appearance in Control Panel. What happens is no windows have borders, so I cannot, for example, move them. (I have two DEs installed & suspect they might be clashing.)
Question:
What is the name of the app that might restore my windows manager?
I used to use xfdesktop at the command prompt for environment restoration, but this is a different problem. I can restart X as a last resort losing all unsaved work.

It's "xfwm4". If there is a chance of a clash between window managers, you could run:
xfwm4 -r &
...to replace or restart it.

I cannot force the bug but will try the command next time it occurs. I see xfwm4 here in /usr/bin/. Thanks!
