ristretto slow with large size image files

Do you find ristretto slow with very high quality image? i have a 10mb png image and it seems that zooming and moving it around the program feels slow. tried with pinta (which i use to do basic editing) and it is very smooth.

Yeah, and yet I had improved things, but I don't think we can do much better with the current rendering (gtk3, cairo, no gpu). Are you at least using a recent version?
