Problem with adding programs to panel. Video demonstration link.

Hard to describe, there is an annoying bug that whenever I want to add a program to the panel, it first adds firefox, and then thunar, and after that the program I want.

Please watch my 44 second silent video demonstration. I hope someone can tell me what the problem is and how to fix it. (I have the same problem on three computers)

Which distro, version of Xfce and version of xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin are you running?

Distro: Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia
base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy
Desktop: Xfce 4.18.1
Whisker Menu: xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin 2.7.2-1~bpo22.04

Out of the box, it doesn't seem to have the bug, but after a while the bug shows up.

Anything getting posted to ~/.xsession-errors when the bug exhibits itself?

Might be worth creating a bug report to see if the developer has an idea (https://gitlab.xfce.org/panel-plugins/x … n/-/issues).

Since there are always a long list of errors in ~/.xsession-errors file, I deleted it and then tried to add xfburn to the panel to see if the file got recreated or not. It did not get recreated. Since it did not get recreated, my guess is the answer to your question is no.

I tried rebooting the computer and after logging in, then the ~/.xsession-errors file got created.

I've been using the xfce desktop since 2013. In all this time, the ~/.xsession-errors file has always had a long list of errors for some reason. With that being said. Here is what my current ~/.xession-errors file has in it.
