Hi there! o)
Just a small question, I noticed my uploaded avatar does not show up next to my postings, just the placeholder image.
This seems to be the case for a lot of accounts, or they did not upload an image, I don't know of course.
Is that intentional? Is there something else to do for me to make the avatar show up? Some spell maybe? o))
Thanks! o)

Looks like a bug. I've asked the webmaster to look into it.

Alright, thank you! o)

And my test one just showed up. See: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?pid=76886#p76886. So it does work.
Make sure your image is at maximum 60x60 and no larger than 10kb in size. I used a png.

Mhh, not sure what is wrong with my newly uploaded 60x60 6kb PNG file, but thank you for trying! o)

Mine took a while to show up. Lets wait an hour or so.

Aha, ok! This FluxBB is special it seems! o)
Not sure if this has been asked before, but allowing to upload images or even paste directly from clipboard, what about that? Even the old fashioned phpBB has it, I talked another forum into this feature recently, since I was exhausted having to save and then pick and finally upload multiple screenshots all day long.
Is this an intended restriction, thinking of moderation, copyright issues and maybe disk-space? I recently inserted an image via URL here, it was not easy task, I tried several times, it did not want my own web link, I had to resort to the suggested image uploaders and even then, I was unclear if it ever worked as expected, I was not able to see the linked image myself if I remember correctly.
Surely offtopic here, but while we are talking about forum features.. o)
I am a rather new user here, please don't mind me bringing up a topic which may have been discussed to death already, but this image-uploading restriction, it's just so "in your face". It seems to me that this place suffers from this restriction, but it might work exactly as the owners intended, I don't know yet. o)
Thanks! o)

Still not working for your account. Lets see what the webmaster says via the above mentioned bug report.
Not sure if this has been asked before, but allowing to upload images
Its never been supported before, but why not? New enhancement request: https://gitlab.xfce.org/www/forum.xfce.org/-/issues/17

Thank you! o)
Not a huge fan of image uploading sites, but yes why not, I see the benefit. The site of postimages.org looks kind of serious compared to a lot of others. For FluxBB itself, there is no plugin which would support uploading directly into the forum it seems. The whole FluxBB project looks kind of abandoned as well, but as long as the forum does the job, who cares. o) It looks "classic" as phpBB, I like it like this. o)

Hi I'm new here and since I see the bug report is still active, I thought I'd mention that I am currently having the same problem uploading a non-gravatar avatar. I confirmed it is less than 10 KiB and less than 60x60 px.
The only place it shows up is the "Personality" section, right after I upload it. It will even persist between logins, but it never shows anywhere else, like in forum posts or even if I click my own profile.

Can you try this instead. Go to gravatar.com, make an account using the same email that used here on the site, and add a gravatar there. Remove the one that you uploaded to this site. This is how mine is set up.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm trying to upload an image from my computer as my avatar (.png) not a gravatar.

I don't think uploading avatars works. See the last comment in the bug report above.I was suggesting to create a gravatar since they seem to work.

Mine has not shown up either; I have resized it several times, the latest: 2567 50x50

My avatar (uploaded via "Upload" in Profile / Personality) is not showing up.
I don't want to use gravatar (third-party website of unknown trustworthiness).

Just an FYI for anyone interested, I noticed my avatar here vanished a while ago (initially set here with Gravatar hosting), the forum upload function still doesn't work or display it except in the Personality tab of my profile.
Even though it was showing in the Gravatar account when I logged in, removing and re-adding it in Gravatar it now appears here as desired.

Mine has never shown since I joined, so based on this post, I thought I'd try again. To test, I changed it to another image and refreshed cache. No change. I then changed the avatar back to the original by reuploading it, and still no change.

Mine is just a direct upload, not hosted on Gravatar. But similarly to your case, my avatar shows up in the settings when I upload it, but not in the actual forum posts.

The only way I've been able to get it working is host it on Gravatar.
I don't know why it vanished a while ago, possibly an update either here or Gravatar where things had to be reset for whatever reason is my guess.
I can't remember for sure but I don't think the direct upload option was even available here when I joined in '22.
