I've just jumped from Xubuntu 22:04 to Mint 22, xfce edition.
I've got almost everything back the way I want it..... [disk free space checkers; cpu & net activity; notifications; ...] - I'm just missing one thing at this point: the icon in the panel that lets me enable/disable wired connections, wireless connections, and VPN connections.
Where I am just now, I have a wired connection; and I was able in install & activate an openVPN connection [needed for some work stuff] - but no indicator in the panel.
I've installed network-manager-gnome, network-manager-openvpn, and network-manager-openvpn-gnome - and I've managed to add the "Advanced Network Configuration" tool to the panel [though it's just listing what is, and doesn't seem to have any way to toggle anything]
How do I get an icon on the panel to let me toggle various connections on & off?

nm-appletAdd it to your start up.
But it's all right, when you're all in pain and you feel the rain come down
It's alright, when you find your way, then you see it disappear
It's alright....

"nm-applet" doesn't solve my issue : When I run that applet, I get a notification I'm connected to the wired connection - however there's no item added to the panel, and no way for me to re-enable by VPN

In order for the applet to show up the Status Tray Plugin needs to be added to the panel.
Settings>>Panel>>Items>>Add>>Status Tray Plugin

Thankee...... it has appeared.... though it appears to be part of "XApp Status Plugin" [based on the position of the icon relative to other items in the panel
Either way, it's here for now

You can change the position of a plugin by up or down arrows in the same place as adding an item.
