Wishlist item - a Desktop-aware launcher

I use virtual desktops for different tasks, one for the web & data mining, a second for terminal work, another for editing, and another for email. What would improve this in XFCE would be a launcher that switches between different settings/configuration depending on which virtual desktop is currently active.
  I'd be happy to hear what other people think of the idea, and how to advocate (perhaps gitlab.xfce.org/xfce) for such utility.
