Hi,
Im using ALSA for sound w/o pulseaudio.
Is there a panel plugin to show/control the volume?.
I had xfce4-pulseaudio plugin but iit work only with pulseuadio.
Thanks

Is there a reason your not using pulseaudio or pipewire?
I think you can still use the panel plugin and then just set the mixer to alsamixer.
But it's all right, when you're all in pain and you feel the rain come down
It's alright, when you find your way, then you see it disappear
It's alright....

There is also xfce4-mixer. It supports OSS and ALSA.

Which distro are you using? Is it in your repositories?
Install instructions kind of depend on distro.

apt-cache search didn't find anything.

Are you using the stable or rolling version of Sparky? Which version of Xfce is being used?
There is also pnmixer and volumneicon-alsa which should be in your repositories if you are looking for an easy solution.

Thanks. I've installed volumeicon-alsa.
How do I get it listed in the list of available panel items (when I right-click on a panel->Add item) ?.

"Add Item" is for Xfce4 panel plugins only. Volumeicon-alsa is a stand alone application that sits in the system tray. First start by making sure you have the system tray plugin added via "Add Item". You can test it by opening a terminal and
volumeicon-alsa &It should show up in the tray if everything is working ok. If so you can add it to the autostart so it starts when you login.

Thanks. It's apparently called just "volumeicon" now. It's working.
Cheers
