Stop HDMI-connected TV changing ARANDR/XRANDR settings when connected?

Hi Toz/everyone, hope you're well.

I have a 3-monitor setup for daily computing, with living room TV also permanently connected via HDMI.
I have a number of xrandr profile scripts on my desktop that I can use to switch from, e.g.
3 monitors,
3 monitors + tv,
Just main monitor,
etc.

My issue is that when the TV is turned on, it's detected by my system and causes the xrandr layout to automatically switch, by placing the TV screen over the top of the monitors (ultrawide bottom, 1+1 standard top), meaning programs don't know where they should be, and are unable to be dragged to the top monitors because they no longer switch from bottom to one of the tops, they remain on the huge TV which overlaps everything.

Is there a way to prevent the xrandr profile from changing when the TV is turned on?
Or to have it default to a specific profile, i.e. 3 monitors, which would still allow me to click the 3 monitors + tv script if needed?

Toz on another post you mentioned Displays > Advanced > when new displays are connected. I currently have "show dialog" but AFAIK I've never seen a dialogue... though this isn't a new display being connected I guess, this is an existing display being turned on, so likely different and thus this paragraph is moot and I should stop typing.

Thanks in advance!
