startxfce4: How is xserver found and activated?

Hello!

I have an kvm/qemu box running devuan und I can start it and login
using virt-manager.
Usually, I dont need it (except for rare reasons).
I can disable lightdm and no gui appears.
How can I configure it to use a remote display (which
would be DISPLAY=192.168.5.5:10, where Xpyhr is
already running on  my host.
Additionally, this way I could use multiple displays
together.
I really dont understand the process flow/order
and what hat to be invoked.
