desktop locked, login screen can't be seen

When I close my laptop and then later reopen it, the login screen is behind the desktop, and the desktop displays the screen previously when I closed it but is locked.

To unlock the laptop even though I don't see the login screen I just log in by typing in the password at which point the desktop starts working again.

how can i solve this problem ?

Thanks

Re: desktop locked, login screen can't be seen

Hello and welcome.

Can you provide more information:

  • What distro are you using?

  • What version of Xfce? Have you swapped out any components?

  • Which screen locking program are using?

  • Is this a new or recent problem? If its a recent problem, what has changed?

  • log files would be helpful. Either ~/.xsession-errors or your journal for the current boot where the issue happened, or your syslog.

I solved the problem.
Most likely the problem occurred after connecting multiple monitors to the computer and changing the order of the monitors.

I solved it by uninstalling lightdm and installing it again.
