desktop settings only work on first workspace

Hi all,

Running Archlinux with the 4.20 packages.

I have noticed upgrading to 4.20 has changed my Desktop background settings:

  • I historically set my backgrund to solid black (no image)

  • After upgrade to 4.20: only workspace 1 kept settings,

  • Other workspaces have reset to image background

When I manually change the settings on the "others" workspaces through the contextual menu, it refuses to change.
If I select "apply to all workspaces", it applies only to first workspace.

Hello and welcome.

Can you post back:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -lv

...as well as running the following command, trying to change the wallpaper on another workspace, and post back the output?

xfdesktop -Q && xfdesktop -e

Your xfce4-desktop xfconf entries is incomplete. Can you try checking and unchecking then re-checking the "Apply to all workspaces" option and re-post back:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -lv

Just wanted to confirm that I had the same symptom as OP and unchecking then re-checking the "Apply to all workspaces" option fixed the issue for me.
