Way to not show application name suffix in Window Button labels

When using "Window Buttons" in panel with setting to show labels in buttons, Thunar shows for example,
"Downloads - Thunar" or "Documents - Thunar".
I was wondering if it was possible, just for Thunar, if there was a way to not show the " - Thunar" suffix and just show the folders name as the name/label of the Window Button?

I would also be interested in general if this can be done for all programs to not show the " - <Application Name>" suffix.
Kind of tricky because a few different scenarios that could occur with Window Button names, probably not possible to customize this.
I would like....
-If application does not have a file loaded, to just show the Application Name
-If application does have a file loaded where its name is programmed to show up in the Window Button, then do not show the " - <Application Name>" suffix.
Usually I can just tell from the applications icon what program it is, so having the application name in the label is not necessary.

I thought I saw something about this somewhere but I think it was the reverse to just show the application names only and not filenames.

Thank You

If you are using at least thunar 4.19.0, then there is a hidden setting that allows you to do this. So for example for your use case:

xfconf-query -c thunar -p /misc-window-title-style -t string -s THUNAR_WINDOW_TITLE_STYLE_FOLDER_NAME_WITHOUT_THUNAR_SUFFIX --create

...and restart thunar and the thunar daemon (if its running).

Only if the application itself supports it.

@ToZ
Ahh thank you for this, Thunar was the main application I was looking to achieve this in.
Other applications as you mentioned would have to have a setting built in for this.
Okay so as far as for Thunar you can change it in the "xfce4-settings-editor" and or in the CL with the example that you have shown.
Unfortunately my distro does not offer version 4.19.0 at the moment so I cannot confirm this yet, but just wanted to thank you for providing this information, good to know for the future.
